Dioctyltin bis-ethylhexylthioglycolate is a stabilizer and catalyst that is especially used for silicones and polyurethanes. It is an organotin compound and is abbreviated as DOTE or DOTEHTG. The clear, colorless liquid is slightly yellowish liquid has a characteristic smell.

Use of Dioctyltin bis-Ethylhexylthioglycolate

Dioctyltin bis-ethylhexylthioglycolate is used as a catalyst for polyurethane and silicone-based sealing systems as well as for the production of polyols. It has a long pot life and is used for end-use applications such as PU adhesives or floors.

But dioctyltin bis-ethylhexylthioglycolate is not only catalytic. As a heat stabilizer in PVC packaging (but also floor coverings, for example), it protects the plastic from premature weakening due to brittleness or the formation of cracks when higher temperatures act.

Transport and Storage

Dioctyltin bis-ethylhexylthioglycolate is supplied from BNT production in barrels. As long as they are kept in their original packaging and sealed, a shelf life of at least 6 months is given without any loss of quality.
